Fineartistmade is the husband and wife design/build team of Patrick Mealey and Joyce Jackson - both working artists based in Down East, Maine since 2001. We create seamless period kitchens and baths by preserving historic fabric and using the home's original details as inspiration. Fineartistmade specializes in window, door and general restoration.
Local projects include the 1790, Theophilus W. Allan and 1850, Benjamin R. Jones homes in Dennysville, as well as the 1822 Dr. Erastus Richardson home in Eastport. Companion homes in Calais; the 1830, Dr. Job Holmes Cottage Museum and, next door, the "Holmestead," an 1850 Italianate built for the Holmes family by Asher B.Bassford. are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
After many years restoring homes in the Hamptons we made a move to a farm established in 1824 that overlooks Boyden Lake. Our restored 1893 home has been featured in the HGTV show, If Walls Could Talk, Old-House Interiors magazine and Down East magazine.
Visit our press page to see articles featuring our designs. We were included in the September 2018 issue of the magazine, Old House Journal where our own bath was featured in the article, Sophisticated Salvage by Mary Ellen Polson."For restorers, the best use of architectural salvage is to replace missing architectural details that should never have been lost in the first place."
